Whitney began working with John Russell at the firms’ formation.  She handles all accounting functions for Russell & Wong, PLLC.  

Whitney has been an accountant for 20+ years.  After graduating from The University of Memphis with a BBA in accounting, she went to work in public accounting for 5 years. While working full time, Whitney went to graduate school at night and received her MBA in accounting from Mississippi College, graduating with honors, in less than two years. 

After receiving her MBA in accounting, Whitney worked as the Controller for two large Memphis based corporations for a combined total of 13 years. She enjoys evaluating a business’s accounting department, making recommendations, implementing proper accounting software, training staff and improving processes to make the department more efficient so they can provide timely financial information to management allowing them to make informed business decisions.

In 2018, Whitney decided to start her own venture when she saw an abundant need in small businesses for an outsourced accountant. Every business needs an accountant, but small businesses don’t necessarily have the need for a full time accountant on staff. Therefore, Cummins Consultants was born! Whitney is very thankful to be a successful entrepreneur.  She provides accounting services to a multitude of small businesses in various industries.
